Former Congressman Jim Bilbray of Nevada to Continue History of Public Service
WASHINGTON, DC – U.S. Senator Harry Reid of Nevada announced today the Senate confirmation of Navadan and former U.S. Congressman Jim Bilbray to the Postal Board of Governors.
In addition to his service in Congress, Bilbray also served on the Board of Regents of the University of Nevada, the Board of Visitors of the United States Air Force Academy, the Board of Visitors of the United States Military Academy at West Point, and on the Advisory Board of the U.S. National Security Policy board.
“I am thrilled to have someone who brings such strong experience confirmed to the Postal Board of Governors,” Senator Reid said. “Jim brings a long, distinguished record of service to Nevada with him as he now, once again, serves our country.”
The Postal Board of Governors consists of nine members, and makes major decisions concerning the operation of the U.S. Postal Service, directs and exercises the powers of the Postal Service, directs or controls its expenditures, and sets policies on all postal matters.
