Washington, DC—Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid made the following statement today after the Senate Banking Committee reported out The Federal Housing Finance Regulatory Reform Act of 2008 by a 19-2 vote:
“I’m encouraged that the Banking Committee today reported a strong, bipartisan bill to help American families suffering from a deteriorating economy and a housing market in crisis. I look forward to the full Senate continuing its work on housing legislation, and I hope Republicans’ cooperation signals a change from their hands-off, wait-and-see approach to the economy.”
