Washington, DC—Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid made the following statement today after the Commission on the Prevention of Weapons of Mass Destruction Proliferation and Terrorism released its final report, titled “World At Risk”:
“Today, the bipartisan Congressional Leadership received a briefing from the Commission on the Prevention of WMD Proliferation and Terrorism on its final report. We appreciate the service of Chairman Bob Graham, Vice Chairman Jim Talent, and the Commissioners – men and women of great talent, wisdom and expertise.
“The Commission reminds us that 21st-century threats are complex and diverse, and we must remain vigilant in our efforts to keep the world’s worst weapons out of the world’s worst hands. I will look forward to studying the Commission’s recommendations and to Congress working with the next Administration on a bipartisan basis to continuously strengthen our efforts to combat weapons of mass destruction.”
