Washington, DC—Nevada Senator Harry Reid released the following statement today in reaction to a letter from President Obama that details recent steps he has taken to secure bipartisan support for his health reform proposal:
“I hear every day from Nevadans who lack the coverage they need and feel the strain of skyrocketing health care costs. They don’t care about political scorekeeping; they merely demand sensible reform now that allows them to keep their families healthy without going broke. The letter I received from the President today details proactive steps he has taken to secure bipartisan support for his health reform proposal. Like the President, Senate Democrats have worked hard to ensure a bipartisan approach to reform.
“After the President lays out a path forward in greater detail tomorrow, we should focus on putting those ideas into action and delivering reform to our broken health system this year.”
