Health Care Reform: Democrats Discuss Long-Term ServicesJune 8, 2009 —Democratic Senators are drafting legislation to assure affordable, high-quality health care for every American. Health reform should ensure vulnerable populations have access to coverage that meets their needs -- including long-term services and support. Senator Tom Harkin joined other advocates for individuals with disabilities today at the Capitol. Chaired by Senator Edward M. Kennedy, Democrats in the Senate's HELP Committee (Health, Education, Labor and Pensions), are working to include long-term services in health reform.

November 4, 2009:
The Senate will convene at 9:30 a.m. and will proceed to a period of morning business for two hours with Senators permitted to speak therein for up to 10 minutes each. Following morning business, the Senate will resume consideration of H.R. 3548, the Worker, Homeownership, and Business Assistance Act of 2009. The Senate will adopt the substitute amendment and then have general debate prior to a roll call vote at 12:15 p.m. on the motion to invoke cloture on H.R.3548, as amended. This cloture vote will be the first roll call vote of the day.
