Health Care Reform: Addressing Skyrocketing CostsJune 9, 2009 —Senator Chris Dodd today spoke today about the impact of staggering health care costs on American families and businesses. “Health care costs are rising faster than our economy is growing,” Dodd said. “Almost half of all foreclosures and nearly 62 percent of bankruptcies were caused by financial issues stemming from medical costs.” Democrats in the Senate's HELP Committee (Health, Education, Labor and Pensions), are working now to draft health reform legislation. Democrats are committed to reducing the cost of health care for families, businesses, and government while protecting choice and assuring affordable, quality health care for all Americans.
