Reid: Sixth Straight Month Of Job Losses Again Highlight Failed Bush Economic Policies

Washington, DCSenate Majority Leader Harry Reid made the following statement today in response to the Labor Department’s report that the nation shed another 62,000 jobs in June, the sixth straight month of job losses:

“It is highly disconcerting that the nation has again lost jobs for the sixth month in a row. These job losses, coupled with the rising cost of living and a continuing housing crisis again highlight the failed economic policies of the Bush Administration.

Democrats have worked hard to extend unemployment insurance benefits for struggling Americans, but much more must be done. We again call on our Republican counterparts to join us in addressing the economic problems facing our nation. We must address the housing crisis, reduce energy prices and make America affordable again.”
