InternshipsThe Senate Democratic Steering and Outreach Committee is currently seeking interns for the Fall (09/09 to 11/09) and Spring (01/10 to 05/10) semesters. The Steering Committee works under the leadership of Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (NV) and is chaired by Senator Debbie Stabenow (MI). Our mission is to build support for Democratic policy positions. In order to do this, the Steering Committee works to create dialogue and relationships between the Democratic Caucus and community leaders; to communicate and promote Democratic policy priorities to outside organizations; to ensure coordination and amplification of the Democratic message; and to coordinate leadership message events with the Democratic Caucus. Each year, the Steering Committee hosts dozens of meetings with advocates, policy experts, and elected officials to discuss key priorities. As an intern in this office students will have the unique opportunity to work in the Senate Democratic Leadership and with many individual Senate offices. Interns' responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Interns will be fully engaged in the day to day operations of our office and must demonstrate professionalism and discretion in every aspect of this internship.
