Capitol Christmas Tree Webcam
Chippewa National Forest in Minnesota will provide the 2014 U.S. Capitol Christmas tree. The tree is 88 feet tall and a White Spruce (Picea glauca), which is the same species as was first provided by the Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe in 1992. In addition, companion trees will be provided by the Minnesota Tree Growers Association to be placed inside offices in Washington D.C., such as the Chief of the Forest Service Office and the USDA. The tree lighting traditionally occurs after Thanksgiving as determined by the Speaker of the House of Representatives.
