The Senate stands adjourned until 12:00 noon on Tuesday, January 31, 2017.
Following any leader remarks, the Senate will proceed to Executive Session to consider the nomination of Executive Calendar #4, Elaine L. Chao, of Kentucky, to be Secretary of Transportation. There will be 20 minutes of debate equally divided followed by a vote on confirmation of the nomination.
As a reminder, during today's session the Senate invoked cloture on the nomination of Rex Tillerson to be Secretary of State. The Senate will debate the nomination during Tuesday's session, post-cloture. The vote on confirmation is expected on Wednesday, February 1st.
