Following any Leader remarks, the Senate will resume consideration of H.J.Res.41, SEC Resource Extraction Resolution of Disapproval, and immediately vote on adoption of the resolution. Upon disposition of the joint resolution, the cloture motion will ripen with respect to the nomination of Elisabeth DeVos and the Senate will vote on the motion to invoke cloture.
Friday at approximately 6:30am - 2 roll call votes
- Adoption of H.J.Res.41 (SEC CRA)
- Motion to invoke cloture on the nomination of Elisabeth DeVos to be Secretary of Education
If cloture is invoked on the DeVos nomination, there will then be up to 30 hours of debate followed by a vote on confirmation. As a reminder, cloture has also been filed on the Sessions (Attorney General), Price (HHS), and Mnuchin (Treasury) nominations. Those cloture motions will ripen upon disposition of the previous nomination in the order filed.
