Marciel nomination confirmed (Burma Ambassador); Senate in morning business; N. Korea Sanctions tomorrow, Wednesday

The Senate confirmed the Marciel nomination (Burma Ambassador) by a vote of 90-0.

The Senate is now in a period of morning business with senators permitted to speak for up to 10 minutes each.

As a reminder, tomorrow, Wednesday, following morning business the Senate will proceed to the consideration of Calendar #359, H.R.757, North Korea Sanctions Enforcement Act of 2016. There will be up to 7 hours of debate equally divided in the usual form. Following the use or yielding back of time, the committee-reported amendment will be agreed to and the Senate will vote on the bill, as amended. We expect that vote to occur at approximately 5:00pm. Another message will be sent when we are more certain of the timing of the vote.
