Schedule for Tuesday, February 28, 2017

The Senate stands adjourned until 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 28, 2017.

Following any Leader remarks, the Senate will proceed to Executive Session and resume consideration of the nomination of Ryan Zinke to be Secretary of the Interior, post-cloture.

At 9:00 p.m., President Donald Trump will address a Joint Session of Congress from the Hall of the House of Representatives in the U.S. Capitol.

All senators are invited to attend the joint session.  The Senate will begin gathering in the Senate Chamber at 8:20 p.m. and depart from the Senate Chamber at 8:25 to proceed as a body to the Hall of the House.

 

As a reminder, Senator McConnell has also filed cloture on the following cabinet nominations:

  • Ben Carson (Secretary of Housing and Urban Development)
  • James Richard Perry (Secretary of Energy)
Each cloture petition will ripen upon disposition of the previous nomination, and each nomination is subject to 30 hours of post-cloture debate.
