McConnell files cloture on House Message to accompany H.R.244; Senate considering FY2017 Omnibus bill

This evening, Senator McConnell laid before the Senate the message to accompany H.R.244 (FY2017 appropriations). He moved to concur in the House amendment to the Senate amendment, filed cloture on the motion to concur, and filled the tree.

Unless an agreement is reached, tomorrow, Thursday, will be the intervening day on cloture. On Friday, one hour after the Senate convenes, the cloture motion would ripen and the Senate would vote on the motion to invoke cloture on the motion to concur.

However, it is expected that an agreement will be sought to complete work on the bill during Thursday's session.
