5:30pm roll call vote expected

The Senate has resumed consideration of the veto message to accompany S.J.Res.8, a joint resolution providing for congressional disapproval of the rule submitted by the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) relating to representation case procedures.

The first vote of the day is expected to begin at approximately 5:30pm. We expect that vote to be in relation to the veto message on the NLRB joint resolution of disapproval. There is a remote possibility that Senator McConnell does not move to table the joint resolution of disapproval tonight in order to give the managers of the Iran bill more time to negotiate. If that were to happen, then we would likely vote on confirmation of a non-controversial, non-judicial nomination at 5:30pm tonight and vote in relation to the NLRB joint resolution tomorrow. However, as stated earlier, the expectation remains that we will vote in relation to the NLRB joint resolution of disapproval tonight.

This week we hope to complete action on the NLRB joint resolution of disapproval and H.R.1191, the legislative vehicle for the Iran Nuclear Agreement Review Act of 2015. We may also consider the conference report on the Budget resolution (up to 10 hours for debate prior to a vote on adoption), as early as tomorrow or Wednesday, depending on when cloture is filed on the Iran bill. The Senate may also consider any other items on the Legislative or Executive Calendars cleared for action.
