Cloture filed on Gottlieb (FDA)
Senator McConnell filed cloture on Executive Calendar #53, the nomination of Scott Gottlieb, of Connecticut, to be Commissioner of Food and Drugs, Department of Health and Human Services. The cloture vote will occur following disposition of the Wilson nomination (Air Force) on Monday, May 8th. As a result, there will be 2 roll call votes Monday (expected around 5:30pm).
In addition to the Wilson and Gottlieb nominations, next week the Senate may also consider congressional resolutions of disapproval regarding methane and prepaid cards, additional nominations (likely Lighthizer to be USTR) and any other items on the legislative or executive calendars of business cleared for action.
There will be no further roll call votes this week.
