Agreement to yield back remining post-cloture time

The Senate has reached an agreement for consideration of the Trade bill for the remainder of today. All post-cloture debate time has been yielded back and the motion to proceed to H.R.1314 was adopted. Senator Hatch then offered amendment #1221 (substitute that includes TPA and TAA), Flake amendment #1243 (strikes TAA title in subst.), and Lankford amendment #1237 (religious freedom). Senator Brown then called up amendment #1242 (TAA funding).

No further amendments are in order to the bill for the remainder of the day.

When the Senate resumes consideration of H.R. 1314 on Monday, May 18, the time until 5:30pm will be equally divided between the managers or their designees. At 5:30pm, the Senate will proceed to vote in relation to the Brown and Lankford amendments in that order, with no second degree amendments in order prior to the votes. Each amendment is subject to an affirmative 60-vote threshold.

As a result of this agreement, there will be 2 roll call votes at 5:30pm on Monday:

  1. Brown amendment #1242 (TAA funding)
  2. Lankford amendment #1237 (religious freedom)
