2 roll call votes at noon/agreement on Haskell and Mushingi nominations

The Senate has resumed consideration of the nomination of Rachel Brand, of Iowa, to be Associate Attorney General, post-cloture, with the time until 12:00 noon equally divided. At 12:00 noon, the Senate will vote on confirmation of the Brand nomination.

Immediately upon disposition of the Brand nomination, the Senate will vote on the motion to invoke cloture on Executive Calendar #55, the nomination of Terry Branstad, of Iowa, to be Ambassador to China. If cloture is invoked on the Branstad nomination, a vote on confirmation is expected Monday at 5:30pm. The confirmation vote has not been set yet.

The Senate has reached an agreement to vote on confirmation of the Haskill and Mushingi nominations en bloc following the cloture vote on the Branstad nomination. We expect to confirm those nomination by voice vote.

Therefore, we expect 3 votes at 12:00 noon today-2 roll calls and then 1 voice vote to confirm 2 nominations en bloc.

• Cloture on Executive Calendar #55, the nomination of Terry Branstad, of Iowa, to be Ambassador to China (roll call);
• Confirmation of Executive Calendar #56, the nomination of Todd Philip Haskell, of Florida, to be Ambassador to the Republic of Congo (voice vote)
• Confirmation of Executive Calendar #57, the nomination of Tulinabo Salama Mushingi, of Virginia, to be Ambassador to the Republic of Guinea-Bissau (voice vote)
