The Senate stands adjourned until 10:00am on Tuesday, May 23, 2017.

Following any Leader remarks, the Senate will resume consideration of Executive Calendar #58, the nomination of John Sullivan, to be Deputy Secretary of State, with the time until the cloture vote equally divided. Unless an agreement is reached, the vote will occur one hour after the Senate convenes, approximately 11:00am. If cloture is invoked, there will then be up to 30 hours of debate followed by a vote on confirmation of the nomination.

The Senate will recess from 12:30pm until 2:15pm to allow for the weekly caucus meetings.

As a reminder, today cloture was filed on Executive Calendar #59, the nomination of Amul R. Thapar, of Kentucky, to be United States Circuit Judge for the Sixth Circuit. Unless an agreement is reached, the cloture vote will occur upon disposition of the Sullivan nomination or 1 hour after the Senate convenes on Wednesday, whichever is later.
