Senate resumes consideration of MTP to H.R.2048 (USA Freedom Act); Senate to recess at 5:00pm

The Senate has resumed consideration of the motion to proceed to the consideration of H.R.2048, USA Freedom Act, with the time until 5:00pm equally divided. At 5:00pm, the Senate will recess subject to the call of the Chair.

At this point, we expect there to be up to 3 roll call votes after the Senate reconvenes from recess (probably around 6pm) this evening. Another message will be sent if anything changes after the Republican caucus and when votes are set. The list of expected votes are below:

  1. Motion to proceed to the motion to reconsider the vote upon which cloture was not invoked on the motion to proceed to the consideration of H.R.2048, USA Freedom Act (majority affirmative vote threshold);
  2. The motion to reconsider the vote upon which cloture was not invoked on the motion to proceed to the consideration of H.R.2048, USA Freedom Act (majority affirmative vote threshold); and
  3. Motion to invoke cloture on the motion to proceed to the consideration H.R.2048, USA Freedom Act, upon reconsideration  (60 affirmative vote threshold).
