Paul objects to McConnell request; Cloture vote expected at 11am Tuesday

Senator McConnell asked unanimous consent that at 6pm, today, the Senate vote on the pending cloture motion on H.R.2048, the USA Freedom Act, and that if cloture is invoked, all post-cloture time be yielded back and the Senate proceed to vote on the pending amendments under the regular order; that upon disposition of the amendments, the Senate proceed to vote on passage of the bill, as amended, if amended.

Senator Paul objected to the request.

Senator McConnell announced that absent any ability to speed this up, the cloture vote will occur one hour after the Senate convenes tomorrow and Senators should expect the cloture vote to occur at 11am on Tuesday.
