Burr amendment withdrawn; Ernst and Gillibrand amendments pending; Senate in morning business

Senator McCain withdrew amendment #1569, as modified (cyber-security and background checks), and called up Ernst amendment #1549 (relative to arming the Kurds). Senator Reed called up Gillibrand amendment #1578 (military sexual assault). Both amendments are subject to a 60 affirmative vote threshold.

The Senate is now in a period of morning business. There will be no further roll call votes during today's session of the Senate.
