Cloture filed on motion to proceed to DoD Appropriations/11:30am vote reminder/12:15pm filing deadline/2:15pm vote series

This morning Senator McConnell moved to proceed to H.R.2685, Department of Defense Appropriations, and filed cloture on the motion.

As a reminder, at 11:30am today, there will be a roll call vote in relation to the McCain-Feinstein amendment #1889 (torture).

The filing deadline for second degree amendments to McCain amendment #1463 (substitute) and H.R.1735 (NDAA) is 12:15pm today. If cloture is invoked, amendments must be germane and timely filed to be considered in order post-cloture.

Following the recess from 12:30-2:15pm, the Senate will vote in relation to the Ernst amendment #1549 (arming the Kurds) and Gillibrand amendment #1578 (sexual assault in the military) and on the motion to invoke cloture on the McCain substitute amendment #1463 to H.R.1735, NDAA.

If cloture is invoked, there would be up to 30 hours for debate prior to a vote on any pending germane amendments and the substitute. There would then be a cloture vote on the underlying bill (H.R.1735, NDAA).

If cloture is invoked on the underlying bill, there would be up to another 30 hours of debate prior to a vote on passage of the bill, as amended, if amended.

Upon disposition of the NDAA bill, the Senate would then vote on the motion to invoke cloture on the motion to proceed to H.R.2685, Department of Defense Appropriations.
