Senate Floor Schedule For Wednesday, June 17, 2009
Morning Business for 1 hour. The Republicans will control the first 30 minutes and the Majority will control the second 30 minutes. Senators will be permitted to speak for up to 10 minutes each.
Following morning business, the Senate will resume the motion to proceed to S.1023, the Travel Promotion Act of 2009, post-cloture. The time during the adjournment and morning business will count against the post-cloture debate time. If we are required to use the full 30 hours, the Senate would proceed to the Travel bill around 6:15pm.
Senator Reid announced that the Senate would turn to the consideration of the Emergency Supplemental conference report when it becomes available.
Tonight the Senate adopted the motion to proceed to S.1023, the Travel Promotion Act, by a voice vote. Senator Reid then moved to proceed to the conference report to accompany H.R.2346, Emergency Supplemental Appropriations, and filed cloture on the conference report. Under the regular order, the cloture vote would occur on Friday. However, we are working on an agreement to vote on any necessary motions to waive points of order and adoption of the conference report tomorrow afternoon. At this point, we believe that an agreement can be reached and senators will be notified when any votes are scheduled.
