Senate reconvenes; McConnell offers Collins/Johnson amendments to H.R.2578; 2 roll call votes expect at 2:00pm today

Senator McConnell withdrew the pending motion to recommit H.R.2578, CJS Approps, and moved to commit the bill to the Judiciary Committee with instructions (text of Collins SA #4858) and ordered the yeas and nays.

Senator McConnell then offered an amendment to the instructions (Johnson amendment #4859, adding due process) and asked for the yeas and nays. He then offered a second-degree amendment #4860 (date change).

The time from 1:15pm until 2:00pm is equally divided between the two Leaders or their designees. We expect 2 roll call votes at 2:00pm today in relation to the Johnson and Collins amendments.
