10:00am 2nd degree filing deadline--10:30am cloture vote--Every Child Achieves Act

As a reminder, the filing deadline for second degree amendments to Alexander amendment #2089 (substitute) and S.1177, the Every Child Achieves Act, is 10:00am today. If cloture is invoked, amendments must be germane and timely filed post-cloture. Please send a signed copy of any amendments to the cloakroom prior to the deadline so that we may file it at the desk prior to the deadline.

At 10:30am there will be a cloture vote on the Alexander substitute amendment. If cloture is invoked, there would be up to 30 hours of post-cloture debate. If cloture is not invoked, there would be an immediate cloture vote on the underlying bill.

Discussions continue on an agreement to vote on a number of amendments to the bill.
