McConnell files cloture on hurricane aid, debt limit, CR agreement
Tonight, the Chair laid before the Senate the message to accompany H.R.601, READ Act. Senator McConnell then moved to concur in the House amendment (emergency aid for Hurricane Harvey) to the Senate amendment with a further amendment #808 (debt limit / CR through December 8, 2017) and filed cloture on the motion to concur. He then offered second-degree amendment #809 (date change).
Discussions continue on a path forward to completing action on it this week. If an agreement is not reached, the cloture motion will ripen on Friday, September 8th. Another message will be sent when votes are expected.
