Cloture filed on William Emanuel (NLRB)
Senator McConnell filed cloture on Executive Calendar #176, William Emanuel, to be a Member of the National Labor Relations Board.
As a reminder, during Thursday's session Senator McConnell filed cloture on Executive Calendar #105, Noel J. Fransisco, of the District of Columbia, to be Solicitor General of the United States. Today is the intervening day. Unless an agreement is reached, the cloture motion will ripen one hour after the Senate convenes tomorrow, Tuesday, September 19th.
Under the rules, the cloture motion with respect to the Emanuel nomination will ripen upon disposition of the Fransisco nomination. Discussions continue on a path forward on both nominations.
