McConnell files cloture on Cissna, Hargan, Quarles, Gingrich nominations

This evening Senator McConnell filed cloture on the following nominations:
  1. Executive Calendar #119, Lee Francis, Cissna, of Maryland, to be Director of United States Citizenship and Immigration Services
  2. Executive Calendar #112, Eric D. Hargan, of Illinois, to be Deputy Secretary of Health and Human Services
  3. Executive Calendar #301, Randal Quarles, of Colorado, to be a Member of the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System
  4. Executive Calendar #226, Callista L. Gingrich, of Virginia, to be Ambassador to the Holy See.

Unless an agreement is reached, tomorrow, Tuesday, will be the intervening day on cloture and the first of the cloture motions - on the Cissna nomination - will ripen one hour after the Senate convenes on Wednesday, October 4th. The remaining cloture motions will ripen upon disposition of the previous nomination, in the order listed.
