The Senate stands adjourned until 10:00am on Tuesday, October 3, 2017.
Following leader remarks, the Senate will resume consideration of Executive Calendar #119, Lee Francis Cissna, of Maryland, to be Director of United States Citizenship and Immigration Services.
The Senate will recess from 12:30pm until 2:15pm for the weekly caucus meetings.
As a reminder, Senator McConnell filed cloture on the following nominations:
- Executive Calendar #119, Lee Francis Cissna, of Maryland, to be Director of United States Citizenship and Immigration Services
- Executive Calendar #112, Eric D. Hargan, of Illinois, to be Deputy Secretary of Health and Human Services
- Executive Calendar #301, Randal Quarles, of Colorado, to be a Member of the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System
- Executive Calendar #226, Callista L. Gingrich, of Virginia, to be Ambassador to the Holy See.
Unless an agreement is reached, Tuesday will be the intervening day on cloture and the first of the cloture motions - on the Cissna nomination - will ripen one hour after the Senate convenes on Wednesday, October 4th and the Senate will vote on the motion to invoke cloture. The remaining cloture motions will ripen upon disposition of the previous nomination, in the order listed.
