Senate Floor Schedule For Wednesday, October 21, 2009
Morning business for 2 hours with the Republicans controlling the first half and the Majority controlling the final half.
Following morning business (approx. 11:50am), the Senate will proceed to Executive Session to consider Executive Calendar #469, Roberto A. Lange, of SD, to be US District Judge for the District of South Dakota. Under a unanimous consent agreement, there will be up to two hours of debate on the nomination, equally divided between Senators Leahy and Sessions, or their designees.
Following the vote on the Lange nomination, the Senate will proceed to a vote on the motion to invoke cloture on the motion to proceed to S.1776, the Medicare Physician Fairness Act.
The Senate is debating the conference report to accompany H.R.2647, Department of Defense Authorization.
There will be no more votes tonight.
Senator Reid filed cloture on the motion to proceed to H.R.3548, Unemployment Compensation Extension Act of 2009.
