Senate proceeds to S.J.Res.24

Senator McConnell moved to proceed to S.J.Res.24, a joint resolution providing for congressional disapproval under chapter 8 of title 5, United States Code, of a rule submitted by the Environmental Protection Agency relating to "Carbon Pollution Emission Guidelines for Existing Stationary Sources: Electric Utility Generating Units".

The motion to proceed was then agreed to by voice vote.

Under the statute, there would be up to 10 hours for debate equally divided prior to a vote on passage of the joint resolution. Senators will be notified when a vote is scheduled.
