Reid: Nevada Families Closer Than Ever To Critical Protections From Wall Street Greed

Washington, DCNevada Senator Harry Reid released the following statement today after the Senate voted to end debate and move forward on Wall Street accountability legislation:
“Today millions in Nevada and across America are closer than ever to being protected from the Wall Street greed that cost middle-class families their homes, their jobs and their retirement savings. I am pleased that we were able to move forward on this bill and take another important step toward holding Wall Street accountable.
“The bill that we introduced a month ago was strong, and we have worked hard in recent weeks to make it even stronger. I commend those reasonable Republicans who voted to move this bill forward, but am disappointed at those who voted to allow business as usual on Wall Street. I am hopeful that as we move to final passage more Republicans will support this bill and work with us to end unregulated greed on Wall Street.”
