Reid Recognizes Veterans Day

Washington, D.C. – Nevada Senator Harry Reid released the following statement today in recognition of Veterans Day:

“As we mark Veterans Day, our nation pauses to honor the service of the brave men and women who have put their lives on the line to keep us safe.  In Nevada, over 1,900 of our best and brightest are currently deployed around the world and 246,000 veterans call our state home.  We thank these men and women and millions more across the nation for their selflessness and courage.
“To honor the service of our heroes, Democrats have fought to ensure that they have quality health care, competitive wages, affordable education and the necessary support to help transition back into civilian life.  Today and every day, we reaffirm our commitment to stand up for these patriots the same way they have stood up for our freedom.
“The character, commitment and dedication of our military service members, past and present, have been instrumental in making America a beacon of hope for the rest of the world.  I will continue to fight for these brave men and women to ensure they are always treated with the respect and dignity that they deserve.”
