Reid Statement On Departure Of Long-Time Spokesman Jim Manley

Washington, DC — Nevada Senator Harry Reid released the following statement today regarding the departure of long-time spokesman and advisor Jim Manley.  Manley has served as Senator Reid’s spokesman since 2004:
“Jim is one of best communicators I have ever had the fortune of working with.  Dating back to his time with former Majority Leader George Mitchell and the late Senator Ted Kennedy, Jim has been the gold standard in his profession.  He represents the very best of our party and our country, and there are countless young communicators who owe him a tremendous debt of gratitude for paving the way.
“Our office will sorely miss Jim’s insight, candor and sense of humor, all of which have made it easier for me to do my job.  Jim has earned the respect of Senators and staff members on both sides of the aisle, and I am proud to call him a friend.  I know that whatever challenge he decides to tackle next, he will be the best man for the job.  Landra and I wish him the very best on his future endeavors.”
