Reid Appoints Martina Bradford To Serve As Deputy Senate Sergeant-At-Arms

Washington, DC – Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid announced today the appointment of Martina Bradford to the position of Deputy Senate Sergeant-at-Arms.  Bradford, who currently serves as the Director of the Senate Democratic Diversity Initiative, will assist the Senate Sergeant-at-Arms with the daily operation and security of the U.S. Senate.
In her previous role, Ms. Bradford served as a Senior Adviser for Human Resources to Senator Reid responsible for increasing diversity in Senate Democratic offices.  Ms. Bradford was a resource for the entire Democratic caucus to help recruit and retain minority staff at all levels.
Prior to her latest post with Senator Reid’s office, Ms. Bradford practiced law for more than twenty-five years, representing large corporate clients on domestic and international law and public affairs issues.  A partner in a major international law firm, she has served as corporate officer of two Fortune 50 corporations, legal counsel on two Committees of the U.S. Congress, and finance counsel to the Interstate Commerce Commission.

“My office has been fortunate to have the counsel of Martina Bradford over the last three and a half years as she helped implement our diversity initiative, and I am pleased that she will bring her impressive credentials to support the important work at the Sergeant-at-Arms office,” said Senator Reid.  “Martina is a seasoned professional, and she will continue to be a great asset to the entire Senate family as she takes on this new role.”
