The Senate stands
adjourned until 10:00am on Tuesday, October 24, 2017.
Following leader
remarks, the Senate will resume consideration of the House Message to accompany
H.R.2266, Emergency Supplemental Appropriations, post-cloture. We expect that a vote on the motion to concur is likely during Tuesday’s session.
The Senate will
recess from 12:30pm until 2:15pm to allow for the weekly caucus meetings.
As a reminder, during today’s
session Senator McConnell filed cloture on the following nominations:
·
Executive Calendar #117, Scott L. Palk, of Oklahoma,
to be United States District Judge for the Western District of Oklahoma; and
·
Executive Calendar #179, Trevor N. McFadden, of
Virginia, to be United States District Judge for the District of Columbia.
We expect the first cloture
vote to occur Wednesday morning. If cloture is invoked, there would be up to 30
hours of debate prior to a vote on confirmation of the nomination. Upon
disposition of the Palk nomination, there would be a cloture vote on the
McFadden nomination. If cloture is invoked, there would be up to 30 hours of
debate prior to a vote on confirmation.
We could see consideration of
the CFPB resolution of disapproval as early as Tuesday. There would be up to 10
hours of debate on the resolution prior to a vote.
