The Senate stands adjourned until 9:30am on Wednesday, November 15, 2017.

 

Following Leader remarks, the Senate will resume consideration of Executive Calendar #383, David G. Zatezalo, of West Virginia, to be Assistant Secretary of Labor for Mine Safety and Health, post-cloture.

 

At 11:50am, the Senate will proceed to the consideration of Executive Calendar #463, Mark T. Esper, to be Secretary of the Army, with up to 10 minutes of debate followed by a vote on confirmation of the Esper nomination.

 

Following disposition of the Esper nomination, all post-cloture time on Executive Calendar #383, David G. Zatezalo, of West Virginia, to be Assistant Secretary of Labor for Mine Safety and Health, will expire and the Senate will vote on confirmation of the Zatezalo nomination.

 

By the rules, upon disposition of the Zatezalo nomination, cloture will immediately ripen on Executive Calendar #300, Joseph Otting, of Nevada, to be Comptroller of the Currency, and the Senate will vote on the motion to invoke cloture on the nomination.

 

Wednesday, November 15th at 12:00 Noon – 3 roll call votes

1.      Confirmation of Executive Calendar #463, Mark T. Esper, to be Secretary of the Army;

2.      Confirmation of Executive Calendar #383, David G. Zatezalo, of West Virginia, to be Assistant Secretary of Labor for Mine Safety and Health; and

3.      Motion to invoke cloture on Executive Calendar #300, Joseph Otting, of Nevada, to be Comptroller of the Currency

 

As a reminder, Senator McConnell has also filed cloture on the following nominations:

1)      Executive Calendar #313, Donald C. Coggins Jr., of South Carolina, to be United States District Judge for the District of South Carolina; and

2)      Executive Calendar #314, Dabney Langhorne Freidrich, of California, to be United States District Judge for the District of Columbia.

 

Each nomination is subject to a cloture vote and then, if cloture is invoked, up to 30 hours of post-cloture debate prior to a vote on confirmation. Upon disposition of the first nomination, there would be a cloture vote on the next nomination in the series and then, if cloture is invoked, up to 30 hours of debate.
