The Senate is in
recess until 8:25 p.m. tonight and upon reconvening will proceed as a body to
the Hall of the House of Representatives for the Joint Session of Congress. At 9:00 p.m., President Donald Trump will deliver the
State of the Union address from the Hall of the House of Representatives in the
U.S. Capitol.
Upon dissolution
of the joint session, the Senate will stand adjourned until 11:00 a.m. on Friday,
February 2, 2018, for a pro forma session only with no business conducted.
When the Senate
adjourns on Friday, it will next convene at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, February 5, 2018.
On Monday,
following Leader remarks, the Senate will be in a period of morning business
with senators permitted to speak therein for up to 10 minutes each. At 5:00
p.m. the Senate will proceed to Executive Session for the consideration of
Executive Calendar #570, Andrei Iancu, of California, to be Under Secretary of
Commerce for Intellectual Property and Director of the U.S. Patent and
Trademark Office.
At 5:30 p.m. the Senate will vote on confirmation of the Iancu
nomination.
