Lankford objects to 3-year border and DACA extension
Senator Flake asked unanimous consent the Senate proceed to
Calendar #300, H.R.1551 (a tax vehicle) and agree to a Flake amendment that is
the text of Calendar #338, S.2464, a bill to improve border security and to
provide conditional provision residence to certain long-term residents who
entered the United States as children.
Senator Lankford asked that the senator modify his request
so that the Senate resume consideration of H.R.2579; that the pending
amendments be withdrawn with the exception of the Grassley amendment #1959 (“SECURE
and SUCCEED Act”); that the Grassley amendment be agreed to; and the bill, as
amended, be considered read a third time and passed.
Senator Flake objected to the modification and Senator Lankford
objected to the original request.
