The
Senate stands adjourned until 12:00 noon on Wednesday, April 25, 2018.
Following
leader remarks, the Senate will resume consideration of Executive Calendar #788, Mike Pompeo, of Kansas, to be
Secretary of State. Cloture has been filed on the Pompeo nomination and on Executive
Calendar #619, Richard Grenell, of California, to be Ambassador Extraordinary
and Plenipotentiary of the United States of America to the Federal Republic of
Germany. The cloture vote on Pompeo is expected to occur Thursday morning.
At 10:30 a.m., on Wednesday, April 25, His
Excellency Emmanuel Macron, President of the French Republic, will address a
Joint Meeting of Congress. All Senators
are invited to attend the joint meeting. Senators should begin gathering
in the Senate Chamber at 10:05 a.m. to depart as a body at 10:10 a.m. for the
Hall of the House.
