The Senate has reached an
agreement to consider Executive Calendar #607, Mitchell Zais, of South
Carolina, to be Deputy Secretary of Education. At a time to be determined by
the Majority Leader in consultation with the Democratic Leader, there will be
10 hours of debate equally divided in the usual form. Following the use or
yielding back of time, the Senate will vote on confirmation of the nomination
with no intervening action or debate
