The Senate stands
adjourned until 3:00pm on Tuesday, October 9, 2018.
Prior to
adjourning, Senator McConnell moved to concur with respect to WRDA, filed
cloture on the motion, filled the motion and amendment trees, and filed cloture
on two DOJ and one DoD nominations.
Following leader
remarks on Tuesday, the Senate will resume consideration of the House message
to accompany S.3021, the legislative vehicle for the Water Resources
Development Act of 2018 (S.3021, was originally a courthouse naming bill).
At 5:30pm on
Tuesday, the Senate will vote on the motion to invoke cloture on the motion to
concur. If cloture is invoked, there would be up to 30 hours of post-cloture
debate prior to tearing down the motion and amendment tree and a vote on the
motion to concur.

The first cloture
vote on the nominations would occur upon disposition of WRDA. If cloture is
invoked, there would be up to 30 hours of post-cloture debate prior to a vote
on confirmation. Then, there would be a cloture vote on the next nomination,
with the same process until all three nominations have been considered.
