The Senate stands
adjourned until 3:00pm on Monday, December 17, 2018.
Following Leader
remarks, the Senate will resume consideration of the House Message on S.756, the legislative vehicle for Criminal
Justice Reform.
There is a 3:15pm filing
deadline for 1st degree amendments to the House message.
At 5:30pm, the Senate will
vote on the motion to invoke cloture on the motion to concur with a further
amendment.
As a reminder, during
Thursday’s session Senator McConnell moved to concur in the House amendment
with a further amendment, SA#4108. He then offered Kennedy amendment #4109 in
the second degree slot, and divided the amendment into three parts:
· Div. I--ends on page 2 line 13;
· Div. II--ends on page 3 line 8; and
· Div. III--is the rest of the amendment.
Senator McConnell then filed
cloture on the motion to concur with further amendment.
Amendments must be germane
and timely filed to be considered in order post-cloture. The filing deadline
for second degree amendments is 1 hour prior to the cloture vote.
