The Senate stands adjourned until 9:30am on Wednesday, June 5, 2019 under the provisions of S.Res.229, and does so as a further mark of respect for the late Thad Cochran, former Senator from Mississippi.

 

Following Leader remarks, the Senate will resume consideration of Executive Calendar #224, David Schenker, of New Jersey, to be an Assistant Secretary of State (Near Eastern Affairs).

 

At 11:00am, the Senate will vote on confirmation of the Schenker and two Tarbert nominations, and on the motion to invoke cloture on the Combs nomination.

 

If cloture is invoked on the Combs nomination, the Senate will vote on confirmation of the Combs nomination at 1:45pm Wednesday. Following disposition of the Combs nomination, the Senate will vote on the motions to invoke cloture on the Holte, Alston Jr., and Hertling nominations. If cloture is invoked on those nominations, the confirmation votes will occur at a time to be determined by the Majority Leader in consultation with the Democratic Leader.

 

At approx. 11:00am on Wednesday, June 5th – 4 roll call votes expected:

1) Confirmation of Executive Calendar #224, David Schenker, of New Jersey, to be an Assistant Secretary of State (Near Eastern Affairs).

2) Confirmation of Executive Calendar #162, Heath P. Tarbert, of Maryland, to be Chairman of the CFTC.

3) Confirmation of Executive Calendar #163, Heath P. Tarbert, of Maryland, to be a Commissioner of the CFTC.

4) Cloture on Executive Calendar #198, Susan Combs, of Texas, to be an Assistant Secretary of the Interior.

 

At approx. 1:45pm on Wednesday, June 5th – 4 roll call votes expected:

1) If cloture is invoked, Confirmation of Executive Calendar #198, Susan Combs, of Texas, to be an Assistant Secretary of the Interior.

2) Cloture on Executive Calendar #39, Ryan T. Holte, of Ohio, to be a Judge of the US Court of Federal Claims.

3) Cloture on Executive Calendar #40, Rossie David Alston, Jr., of Virginia, to be United States District Judge for the Eastern District of Virginia.

4) Cloture on Executive Calendar #56, Richard A. Hertling, of Maryland, to be a Judge of the United States Court of Federal Claims.
