The Senate stands adjourned until 3:00pm on Monday, July 15, 2019.

 

Following Leader remarks, the Senate will resume consideration of Executive Calendar #362, Peter Joseph Phipps, of Pennsylvania, to be United States Circuit Judge for the Third Circuit.

 

During Thursday’s session, Senator McConnell filed cloture on 4 Treaty Documents (re: Spain, Swiss Confederation, Japan, and Luxembourg). The filing deadline for first degree amendments to the Treaty Documents is 3:30pm on Monday.

 

At 5:30pm, the Senate will vote on the motion to invoke cloture on the Phipps nomination.

 

During Thursday’s session, Senator McConnell filed cloture on the following Executive items:

1.       Executive Calendar #362, Peter Joseph Phipps, of Pennsylvania, to be United States Circuit Judge for the Third Circuit;

2.       Executive Calendar #1, Treaty Doc. No. 113-4, The Protocol Amending the Tax Convention with Spain;

3.       Executive Calendar #2, Treaty Doc. No. 112-1, Protocol Amending Tax Convention with Swiss Confederation;

4.       Executive Calendar #3, Treaty Doc. 114-1, Protocol Amending the Tax Convention with Japan;

5.       Executive Calendar #4, Treaty Doc. 111-8, Protocol Amending Tax Convention with Luxembourg;

6.       Executive Calendar #54, Clifton L. Corker, of Tennessee, to be United States District Judge for the Eastern District of Tennessee;

7.       Executive Calendar #175, Lynda Blanchard, of Alabama, to be Ambassador to the Republic of Slovenia; and

8.       Executive Calendar #183, Donald R. Tapia, to be Ambassador to Jamaica.
