The
Senate stands adjourned until 10:00am on Wednesday, March 11, 2020.
Following Leader remarks, the Senate will resume consideration of S.J.Res.56, providing for congressional disapproval under chapter 8 of title 5, United States Code, of the rule submitted by the Department of Education relating to "Borrower Defense Institutional Accountability".
Pursuant to the Congressional Review Act, the vote on passage will occur on the House-passed version which is H.J.Res.76, Borrower’s Defense CRA. At 12:00 noon, the Senate will vote on passage of H.J.Res.76.
During Tuesday’s session, Senator McConnell filed cloture on Executive Calendar #587, James P. Danly, of Tennessee, to be a Member of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission. If no agreement is reached, that cloture vote would occur one hour after the Senate convenes on Thursday. If cloture is invoked, there would be up to 2 hours of debate prior to a vote on confirmation of the nomination.
