The Senate stands adjourned until 12:00 noon on Friday, January 1, 2021.
Following Leader remarks, the Senate will resume consideration of the veto message accompanying H.R.6395, National Defense Authorization Act.
At 1:00pm, the Senate will vote on the motion to invoke cloture on the veto message.
If cloture is invoked (60-vote threshold), there would be up to 30 hours of post-cloture debate.
Upon conclusion of debate, the question before the body would be: “Shall the bill (H.R.6395, NDAA) pass, the objections of the President of the United States to the contrary notwithstanding?" A quorum being present, a veto override requires a 2/3 affirmative vote of those present and voting.
Friday, January 1st at 1:00pm – roll call vote:
1. Motion to invoke cloture on the veto message accompanying H.R.6395, National Defense Authorization Act.
