Schedule for Wednesday, January 6, 2021

The Senate stands adjourned until 12:30pm on Wednesday, January 6, 2021.

 

Following leader remarks, the Senate will be in a period of morning business with senators permitted to speak therein for up to 10 minutes each.

 

At 1:00pm, the Joint Session of Congress will convene in the Hall of the House of Representatives under the provisions of S.Con.Res.1, for the counting of the electoral ballots.

 

Senators attending the Joint Session will gather in the Senate Chamber at 12:45pm and proceed as a body to the Hall of the House of Representatives at 12:50pm.

 

If there is an objection to counting a state’s electors, senators will return to the Senate Chamber. There would be 2 hours for debate with senators permitted to speak therein for up to 5 minutes each. Upon conclusion of debate, the Senate would vote on the question before the body.
