Schedule for pro forma sessions and Tuesday, January 19, 2021

The Senate stands adjourned for pro forma sessions only with no business conducted on the following dates and times:

 

Friday, January 8th at 10:00am

Tuesday, January 12th at 12:30pm

Friday, January 15th at 10:00am

 

When the Senate adjourns on the 15th, it will stand adjourned until 12:00 noon on Tuesday, January 19, 2021.

 

Following Leader remarks, the Senate will be in a period of morning business with Senators permitted to speak therein for up to 10 minutes each.

 

Depending on the certification timeline, Senators-elect Warnock and Ossoff of Georgia may be sworn in on January 19th.

 

At this time, roll call votes are not expected on January 19th. Another message will be sent if this shifts.

Legislative Business

Completed the Rule 14 process to place on the Legislative Calendar of Business S.11: to provide for an exception to a limitation against appointment of persons as Secretary of Defense within seven years of relief from active duty as a regular commissioned officer of the Armed Forces (Schumer).

 

Began the Rule 14 process to place on the Legislative Calendar of Business S.13: To establish an advisory committee to make recommendations on improvements to the security, integrity, and administration of Federal elections. (Scott (SC))
